In 2010, Martha and Paul Sharkey welcomed identical twin girls at just 23 weeks and 5 days. Claire weighed 1lb. 2oz. and Mary weighed 1lb. 4oz. Mary earned her wings after two weeks. Claire beat the odds and came home after 103 days in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). The Sharkeys recognized a gap in care during their extended NICU journey. They founded Today is a Good Day in 2014 to help fill the gap providing personal and financial support for families with babies in the NICU.
