Give Your Home Vacation Vibes
From cozy mountain homes to tranquil beach fronts, chic hotels to quaint Air BnB’s, vacation homes just feel different. A home away from home, they offer a simple, clutter-free space that gets you in the mindset for whatever climate or town you’re staying in.
Whether you have plans to get away this year or not, consider how you can bring vacation vibes into your residence. Creating a space you love to be in allows you to fully relax and enjoy the Summer months.
Most articles recommend starting with decluttering. A good strategy to part with items you aren’t sure of is to consider if you’ve used them in the last four seasons. If not, chances are you aren’t going to miss it. Start by creating piles for trash (think, old magazines, no longer needed paperwork, etc.) and piles for donation (things you’ve enjoyed and still have life in them for others to love – clothing, décor that no longer suits your style, etc.).
Once you’ve gone through that process, rethinking your color palette is a great next step that can transform any space into something new. Think about the mood you want to evoke and go from there. We offer color consultations with our interior design partner to help with this step. Give us a call at 484-554-6207 to learn more about how this works.
Décor is the final step, and usually the fun step for homeowners. Check out this blog post from Julie Blanner for tips and inspiring ideas on recreating your favorite vacation vibe.

EXTERIOR DOOR REFERESH IN DEVON, PA
Our team recently completed an exterior door painting project in Devon, PA. Over time, this home’s front door became weathered down, as transparent varnish on natural-toned wood allows the color beneath the coating to fade. We brought the front door, door frame, and side entry door back to life by first completely stripping them down to bare wood. We then applied a Mahogany stain to give them some color and finished them off with a few coats of a clear varnish using Sikkens Cetol Door and Window. This product offers superior UV protection to prevent future fading.
For a job like this, preparation is key. When applying a clear coat over a door, any small imperfection underneath will show through. The preparation process of removing the old coating had to be meticulous in order for a great final outcome.
For the garage doors, the team sanded, primed, and painted to match the color of the home.
The homeowner was very happy with the final outcome, providing a 5-star review of the work.
